About a year ago Pharmacy OneSource released a complimentary Antimicrobial Stewardship Gap Analysis to help healthcare organizations evaluate their current processes and benchmark against industry best practices.

Initial responses from 151 U.S.-based acute care facilities highlighted that the industry has a long way to go in terms of maturing ASPs. Even hospitals that believed their programs were sophisticated scored between 30 percent and 60 percent compliant. On a maturity scale of 1 to 57, the average score was 28.886 (out of 100), with the majority of facilities scoring between 10 and 45.
